It’s not a secret that the security patch for Android 14 July is gradually rolling out for the Google Pixel devices ranging from Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and the Pixel 8a. This month’s patch tackles various forms of sec issues that seeks to enhance the stabilities and performances of the devices. Here are some keyhighlights:

• Faster Rollout:

Unlike the delays experienced last month, the July update is rolling out more promptly.

The Pixel Watch received its update first on Monday, indicating a phased rollout strategy.

• Security Issues Addressed:

10 security issues resolved in the Android 14 July patch dated 2024- 07- 01.

19 security issues resolved in the patch dated 2024- 07- 05.

Vulnerabilities range from high to critical severity.

The dedicated bulletin for Google devices lists 4 additional security fixes.

The Pixel 8 series has a distinct .005 build.

All other Pixel devices are on the .004 build this month.

A separate build is available for Telus Australia for the Pixel 8, 8 Pro, and 8a.

Personally, I’m glad to see Google prioritizing security and stability with this update, especially after last month’s delays. The camera improvements are a welcome addition, as is the fix for back gesture navigation. It’s great to see Google listening to user feedback and addressing issues promptly.
